The Tradition of a Mini Tree

December 10, 2016

Each year my daughter creates her own mini tree with the cuttings from our larger, family tree. It’s a tradition now and she really takes pride in creating and decorating her tree. First, she starts with a pile of cuttings. Then she snips and shapes and arranges to create a pretty cute table decoration for the season. The mini tree is a staple part of our holiday time.

In most families, traditions are set by the parents or grandparents and kids look forward to and enjoy them. They often keep the same traditions in their family as they grow up. I like that she created this one … that it’s something all her own that she can look forward to each year. She creates unique memories for Christmas she can remember as she gets older.

This year a painted green tree embellishes the pot, along with ribbons. She adds battery powered lights and small ornaments to finish it off. 2016 mini tree is a wrap! Hope you like it.
