As you may remember from earlier this year, I am taking a break from Project Life and doing monthly mini albums to document family stories this year. The summer mini albums are the next group in this collection. And, by year’s end it will be a fun, colorful group of albums. Each one turns out differently on the number of pages, type of inserts, embellishments, and style. I just do what I feel like in the moment, because after all, it’s fun to play!
The pockets in the albums hold birthday cards, Father’s Day cards, ticket stubs and other memorabilia I want to keep. For this spread I decided to write an entire page of bullet points to remember everything from the month.
I add vellum and acetate specialty papers to my mini albums. The pages are rarely the same size because I like the album full of different sizes and shapes to make them more visually interesting. It does mean you have to plan out the photos on the vellum to make sure there are two that can back up to each other on the page.
Lately I’ve added journaling in different ways like writing around a photo.
And I like adding dimensional embellishments to all my projects.
