Make A Gift Bag Greeting Card

In just 45 minutes, you can transform a gift bag into a unique, self-mailing greeting card. This gift bag greeting card idea creates a unique card with pockets for hidden surprises.

Instructions to make a gift bag greeting card

Start with a standard gift bag and remove the handles.

Then, cut open one end of the bottom panel on the bag to create a pocket for a note card insert. Most gift bags lay flat with the bottom panel

I created a pull tab on the insert by adding chip board embellishments and a circle punch to create the half circle cut out.

Add scrapbook paper and other embellishments to decorate the inside areas into a personalized greeting. Add a gift card or another message in the top pocket.

Fold closed, create mail panel if desired, and decorate outside. If mailing, you’ll have to secure closed with tabs or tape.
