So fun to have these photos of my friends granddaughter to put in a mini album to celebrate summer. Scrapbooking summer required some new paper so I picked up this joyful beach-theme paper by Carta Bella called Beach Day. I couldn’t wait to use it in this album. Plus, it coordinates so well with my “Summer Lovin'” scrapbook card collection, which you can download for free to use in your projects!
Mini albums are my go-to format to capture memories of a special occasion or event. So when it came to scrapbooking summer for this little girl, I knew a mini album would be perfect. Fleeting moments from each day are often forgotten. But when we capture simple living, cute smiles and everyday activities, they become as cherished as the big moments.
This little girl is such a character. I just love this photo June where she shows off her more dramatic side.
The album has spots for June’s parents to add their thoughts and stories of these moments to complete the scrapbook. Simple reflections from her Grandmother, Mom or Dad will mean so much to her some day.
In this album, I incorporated the Summer Lovin’ scrapbook cards on the page layouts. Pieces of the cards make great embellishments like strips of color, circle elements or other sections that can be cut out. What I like most about making these little albums is that they are little works of art to decorate words. I also think preserving handwriting of those we love is another important benefit of scrapbooking.
One of my favorite elements in this album is the sand and shell pocket on this tag that I sewed with embroidery thread. I used the We R Memory Keepers Fuse tool for the first time to create the pocket (…and I stuffed it a little too much … but it worked). It’s a surprise when you turn the page and see the beach!
Hope you enjoyed this little book and it inspires you to capture your summer activities in an album, too!
